How to Move Around in Victoria

Victoria's public bus service usually charges a flat rate for fares that are paid through a convenient Smart card. The service runs fairly regularly between dawn and around 8.30 pm. There's also taxi hire. The multi-lingual drivers usually speak English, French and the local Seselwa. Car rental is available in Victoria. The city's streets are in good condition with vehicles driving on the left-hand side of the road. An ideal way to explore Victoria is to hire a bicycle. It's an inexpensive, relaxed mode of transport.

The Climate in Victoria

Victoria is near the Equator and enjoys a tropical climate. Rainfall is slight and mostly confined to the higher ground. The temperature is hot throughout the year and usually falls between twenty-four and thirty degrees Celsius. Some tourists prefer to visit when the local trade winds switch round and provide refreshing sea breezes. This occurs twice, from May to June and from October to November.
